  • Style: Three-Ply with pearloid back (White / Black / Pearloid)
  • Era: CBS (1968-1969)
  • Colour: White (aged) with pearloid back
  • Holes: 11 Holes
  • Thickness: 2.4mm (0.095")
  • Compatible with: CBS Fender Stratocasters

1969 saw the introduction of the unusual pearloid-back pickguards on the Fender Stratocaster. A short-lived phase and very rare in genuine vintage instruments, this is believed to have been a result of CBS attempting to make the best use of old stock.

This pickguard is three-ply construction with a white top, black middle and pearloid as the bottom layer - unseen until the pickguard is removed. Uses the period-correct eleven-hole template and is 2.4mm (0.095") thick - as the originals were and will fit onto vintage guitars as well as more modern Fender USA and Mexican Stratocasters.
