- Compatibility: Fender Guitars and Basses (CBS era)
- Dimensions: Vintage Accurate
- Finish: Chrome Plating
- Markings: Pre-Plating Stamped "F" CBS Serial Numbers
CBS-era neck plates featured the large "F" script stamping (whereas pre-CBS neck plates had only the stamped serial number), as well as the serial number. Our CBS-era stamped serial number vintage replica neck plates are about as accurate as they come, with serial numbers available ranging from 1965 until 1968.
These plates are the correct dimensions and thickness, with the right amount of bevel and contour on the corners, chrome plated with the correct, stamped, "F" scripted Fender logo and serial-number font (don't believe anybody who tells you Fender used different types of fonts on different years of production neck plates, it's not true), and are a direct replacement for any Fender guitar or bass (including Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Jazz Bass, Precision Bass, etc).
Unlike earlier pre-CBS neck plates, the serial numbers on the neck plates of CBS guitars give a far more accurate indication of the year of manufacture although there was still some ambiguity and over-lap between years. As a rough guide:
100000 to 110000 = late 1965
110000 to 200000 = 1966
180000 to 210000 = 1967
210000 to 250000 = 1968

Unfortunately we don't yet have more in-detail photographs of these particular neck plates to publish but will include them as soon as possible. We are able to provide virtually any serial number required either as replacement for an original vintage instrument, or as a finishing touch for your vintage guitar project.
