Our pre-CBS stamped serial number vintage replica neck plates are about as accurate as they come. With serial numbers available ranging from 1954 right the way up to 1965 (stamped 'F' CBS neckplates also available).
These plates are the correct dimensions and thickness, with the right amount of bevel and contour on the corners, chrome plated with the correct, stamped, serial-number font (don't believe anybody who tells you Fender used different types of fonts on different years of production neck plates, it's not true), and are a direct replacement for any Fender guitar or bass (including Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Jazz Bass, Precision Bass, etc).
In the original Fender assembly line the serialised neck plates were purchased and used in bulk - a Fender factory worker would simply pick one at random out of a bin, attach it to the guitar, and move on to the next one. As a result, serial numbers were not necessarily in line with the number of guitars produced. As a result, there is some ambiguity between neck plate serial numbers and year of production (with plenty of overlap between years), but as a rough guide:
0001 to 8000 = 1954
6000 to 10000 = 1955
9000 to 16000 = 1956
16000 to 25000 = 1957
25000 to 30000 = 1958
30000 to 40000 = 1959
40000 to 58000 = 1960
55000 to 72000 = 1961
72000 to 93000 = 1962
93000 to 99999 = 1963
L00001 to L20000 = 1963
L20000 to L55000 = 1964
L55000 to L99999 = 1965

Included above are photographs of a number of our different eras and years of neck plate, we are able to provide virtually any serial number required either as replacement for an original vintage instrument, or as a finishing touch for your vintage guitar project.
All of our guitar bodies, necks, accessories, parts, and hardware are aged to customer specification, so if you want a very heavy relicing effect akin to something that's spent its life being dragged behind a truck, we can do that! Equally if you only want a very light almost-NOS effect, that's just as possible. Just let us know and we'll make sure we meet your requirements. The only exceptions are extra-heavy (Gallagher-style) relics, or exact-match relics, where there's a lot more work involved. We are also able to offer a customisation service so if you don't see the finish you want, or the routing you want, just drop us a line to let us know your requirements and we will be happy to discuss the options available to meet your particular project guitar needs. We can also provide all of the hardware, parts and plastics you need to complete your custom relic guitar, either as separate items or in kit form, just ask.
Compatibility
Our parts are of the same high quality as the authentic guitars and parts that were being produced and coming out of Leo's workshop forty-plus years ago. They are intended as authentic vintage reproductions for replacement or repair of genuine vintage instruments, or for building your own vintage relic replica. It goes without saying that our parts are fully compatible with original and replacement vintage American Fender guitars and parts, as well as original vintage hardware. If you are at all unsure about compatibility with other parts you already own, or may be considering for your guitar project, please send us a message and ask and we'll be happy to advise.
Satisfaction Guarantee
Buying custom items online and unseen can be a daunting proposition, especially when it comes to such personal tastes as artificially aged and reliced guitars. For this reason we offer a satisfaction guarantee: if for any reason you're not happy with your items upon receipt, you just have to return them to us for refund. That's how confident we are of the quality, craftsmanship and authenticity of the guitars and parts we sell.
Unless otherwise stated, the price quoted above (£27.50 ) is for the neck plate only, regardless of any other items which may appear in the photographs on this page alongside the neck plate. All parts, hardware, components, and plastics you need to complete your relic guitar project are available separately.
