During cost-cutting at Fender it was decided to bring the production of machineheads (and other assorted hardware) in-house in order to modernise production and reduce spending. The Fender "F" chrome tuners, most popularly recognised on 1970s Fender guitars and a partner to CBS's larger headstock shape, was the result.
These are genuine Fender items in chrome with the F logo stamped into the rear casing. Carefully aged to accurately replicate forty years of use, these are suitable for all of the CBS-era instruments from 1966 onwards and come with all bushings and screws needed (and aged to the same extent) so you only need to slot them straight into your headstock and screw them in and you're ready to go!
All of our guitar bodies, necks, accessories, parts, and hardware are aged to customer specification, so if you want a very heavy relicing effect akin to something that's spent its life being dragged behind a truck, we can do that! Equally if you only want a very light almost-NOS effect, that's just as possible. Just let us know and we'll make sure we meet your requirements. The only exceptions are extra-heavy (Gallagher-style) relics, or exact-match relics, where there's a lot more work involved. We are also able to offer a customisation service so if you don't see the finish you want, or the routing you want, just drop us a line to let us know your requirements and we will be happy to discuss the options available to meet your particular project guitar needs. Compatibility
Our parts are of the same high quality as the authentic guitars and parts that were being produced and coming out of Leo's workshop forty-plus years ago. They are intended as authentic vintage reproductions for replacement or repair of genuine vintage instruments, or for building your own vintage relic replica. It goes without saying that our parts are fully compatible with original and replacement vintage American Fender guitars and parts, as well as original vintage hardware.
