Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock Festival 1969 with Olympic White Stratocaster

Most people will recognise Olympic White Stratocasters as being the same colour as Jimi Hendrix's 1969 Woodstock Festival Stratocaster. Photographs and posters of this iconic player with his guitar slung and strung upside down have adorned the walls of teenagers across the world and influenced an entire generation of Stratocaster guitarists.

The original finishes were an off-white colour which quickly mellowed with age, taking on the stains from smoke, sweat and humidity into a slightly darker hue. During the late 1950s and early 1960s Fender was not consistent with their finishing of custom colours and as a result many Olympic White Stratocasters never had a clear coat leaving them further exposed to the elements and causing the heavy yellowing often apparent on vintage Olympic White Stratocasters today.

We are pleased to be able to offer a very accurate recreation of Hendrix's original 1960s Olympic White Stratocaster, with genuine nitrocellulose (finished either with or without clear coat), and aged to reveal forty years of use. Available in either two-piece alder or swamp ash these bodies are contoured and shaped precisely for the vintage and include the all-important worm route.
